Captain Ronnie S

Captain Ronnie S is a veteran fisherman. He loves taking out families and teaching the kiddos how to fish along with their parents or grandparents. Capt. Ronnie is very personable and upbeat. He will try to get you the best catch of the day.
Capt. Ronnie’s boat is a 21’ Haynie flats boat with 140HP Suzuki engine and is equipped with a live well. This type of boat is the best for fishing in the flats. The boat can hold up to 4 people fishing and the Captain.
You will be fishing for Redfish, Speckled Trout and Black Drum and who knows whatever you get on your hook. Rods, reels, tackle and bait is supplied for your trip.
All you need to bring is a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License (sold just about anywhere in Port A. or you can purchase online), some snacks and drinks, and don’t forget the sunscreen.

I specifically booked a trip for July 15th for 8 people, to hopefully catch some Reds, Speckle Trout’s and Flounder. Woody’s informed us that we needed it 2 boats for this size group. We arrived and my group went with Capt Ronnie and the other group of 4 went with Capt Ralph. Our trip with Capt Ronnie was awesome, he tried every spot available to insure we came back with fish. We all fished for exactly 6 hours, part of the contract. We came back with 3 good size Reds. The other group, that went with Capt Ralph informed me their trip was horrible. He took them to the Jetties to fish, which to me is odd when I can fish off the Jetties on my own without paying $750. Then he only threw 2 rods out and told the other 2 people to wait to see if they catch fish first, this took about 45 minutes, No Way! They paid to fish as much as possible, especially for the amount we paid. Then they return to dock at 11:00am, and only came in with 2 small drums. Our contract was from 6:00-12:00. Capt Ronnie started heading back at 12:00pm, we arrived at the dock at 12:18pm. I feel responsible for this trip because I booked it, and I feel they got short changed. I will not book with Capt Ralph next time.
