What do I need to bring with me on the boat?
A small ice chest with water, drinks, and snacks you may need. Also don’t forget sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and your Texas Saltwater Fishing license

Do I have to wear a life jacket?
Texas Life Jacket Laws require children under 13 years old to wear a U.S Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
Anyone over the age 13 has a choice whether or not they want to wear a life jacket.
Every fishing guide will have U.S Coast Guard-approved children and adult lifejackets on the boat in case of emergency or if you didn’t bring one.
Can I bring my own life vest?
Yes! You can bring your own life vests.
Life vests will be on your guide’s boat, but if you have your own or your child has a specific one they want to wear feel free to bring it with you on the trip. Make sure they are U.S Coast Guard-approved life jackets.
Children under 13 are required to wear a life jacket on the boats.
Can I request a fishing guide?
Yes! you can request a fishing guide but we can’t promise that they aren’t booked the day you want to go fishing, but if you are booking in advance we can work with the captains schedule to get you on their books.
Do I need experience fishing?
No! You do not need experience fishing. If you need a more in depth learning experience let us know and we can get you a captain who’s best at teaching.
How does the payment work?
Woody’s requires a $100 inshore and a $300 offshore deposit. We will then text you the remaining balance, and that payment will be given to your captain the day of the trip.
How do I get a fishing license? Do I need one?
In Texas, anyone under the age of 17 does not need a fishing license.
If you need one before your trip; You can go online through Texas Parks and Wildlife to get a Salt water Fishing license

What if the weather is bad and my trip gets canceled?
If the captain cancels or if there’s lightning you will get your deposit back, but if the trip gets rescheduled your deposit will go to that trip.
What if there is a percentage of rain?
The coastal bend sometimes has a percentage of rain, but it does not rain every time. If worried, call your captain, and they will make the final decision. You can also cancel your trip, but if you don’t cancel before 7 days of your trip you will not get your deposit back.
Do I need to tip the Fishing Guide?
Tipping is optional but greatly appreciated for your guide.
What to do if you get seasick.
If you know that you get seasick easily let us know, we will tell your captain to avoid rough areas. Its usually calmer in the bays but if you are going offshore it might not be possible for your captain to find calm areas. You can always use Motion-Sickness medications like Dramamine or Bonine.
